5 kW wind lens wind turbine (grid-connected type)
A compact, high-efficiency next-generation urban small wind turbine that can be installed anywhere.
The grid-connected type is a small wind turbine with a maximum output of 5 kW. It is connected to the commercial power grid, and when the wind turbine's output is low, electricity is purchased from the power company. The independent type is a small wind turbine with a maximum output of 3 kW. Its dimensions are the same as the grid-connected type, but due to differences in control methods, the output is limited to 5 kW. A special design duct, commonly known as a wind lens, is its most notable feature. The vortex generated by the wind-collecting lens increases wind speed by 1.3 to 1.5 times. Since the power generation is proportional to the cube of the wind speed, the wind-collecting effect alone can achieve 2 to 3 times the power output. The blades are also about half the size of conventional wind turbines, which resolves issues related to installation locations and transportation. Furthermore, the compact rotation area of the blades (sound source) and the structure of the wind-collecting body itself suppress the wingtip vortices that are noise sources, achieving excellent quietness. Additionally, the wind lens wind turbine has superior responsiveness to wind direction changes due to its weathervane effect.
